Correct diagnostics saved the owner of this Nissan Juke over £1000!!!

Nissan Juke in with DPF light on, been elsewhere and DPF had been condemned!

Initial checks proved the DPF was in fact clear with only one error code relating to air flow… we noticed the air filter housing was fitted incorrectly (so we refitted this) and checked live data for air flow which was erratic! We cleaned the MAF sensor with electrical cleaner which helped for a few seconds but then returned to erratic readings… we replaced the MAF sensor and refitted air filter & housing correctly and the error light went straight off! A quick road test whilst monitoring the data and the car now runs & performs as it should🤙

Nothing wrong with the DPF and the only reason the light had come on was due to an imbalance in pressures across the engine caused by the faulty MAF sensor!

The owner could’ve spent over £1500 plus fitting on a new DPF and would still of had the same issue! Which proves that an understanding of the system and correct diagnosis is key to the correct repair.
