Subaru Outback in for DPF diagnostics & repair.
The owner had paid to have several different on vehicle cleans carried out which only lasted a few days at a time! After our initial diagnostics we found that the dpf was severely restricted and due to the mileage confirmed it would be ash accumulation!
Now the ONLY way to correctly remove ash is to back flush it out of the core (no on vehicle clean can remove this!)
We removed the DPF, filled it with our stage 1 cleaner that breaks down the contamination and releases the ash particles from the core and then it is hooked up to our flash cleaner where it is flushed with water & compressed air... it became apparent early on in the clean that there was a considerable amount of ash built up in this dpf! After around 45 minutes of cleaning the water was running clear indicating that all the contaminants had been removed.
After refitting the dpf the vehicle was run at idle up to normal temperature which dries the core before taking on an extended road test to ensure correct operation.
This vehicle is now running & performing as it should with no loss of power or error codes stored👍
The owner could’ve saved himself a few hundred pound if he’d have come to us first!
